Tip Toe Classes

A range of dance styles for students in Wolverhampton

At Tip Toes Dance Academy, we are experts in teaching a wide range of dance styles to children. Contact us for more details.

We're not just teaching dance, we're teaching lifestyle skills

There are opportunities to take RAD ballet assessments, presentation classes and IDTA Rosettes and Stardance awards. You can learn dance forms such as ballet, tap, theatre craft, modern, street dance, acrobatic dance and tricks and tumbles.

We take great pride in teaching all of our pupils a high level of dance. We will never pressurise any of our learners to take part in any assessment. Children will have the opportunity to take part in the Tip Toes annual dance show. Again, taking part is optional and there will never be any pressure to participate.

Pre-school Ballet & Tap Dance

"My daughter loves this class and has been going since she was 3. Miss Eadie is so patient and kind, the kids love her! The show they do every year is a great experience and confidence builder for all the children. I would recommend 100%."

Dancing class for children above 2 years

All classes at our academy are conducted by a fully qualified and DBR (used to be called CRB checked) teacher. Classes are held during term time with the pre-school classes taking place during the day and on Saturday afternoons. Dance classes for older children take place throughout the week, after school and at the weekend.

Fees and school holidays

All  45 minute classes are £6.50 per session and all 1 hour classes are £7.75 per session. Fees are payable on the first class of each half term, in advance. Invoices will be issued at the end of each half term. Fees are payable either by cash or bank transfer.

New students may pay for one class initially. Once they have decided they would like to enroll, they can pay for the remainder of that half term. All classes are term time only. No credits are given but you may make up for any missed classes at any of our other classes at any venue and at any time to suit your convenience. Please contact Miss Eadie for suitable options.

We follow the Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire council school holidays.

Modern dance

Modern classes cover all aspects of this exciting genre from lyrical and jazz through to contemporary, blues and commercial styles. Graded classes teach the building blocks of the style with both limbering and strengthening exercises alongside fun dance movements including isolations, turns, kicks and leaps.

Pupils are entered for IDTA Rosettes, Stardance Awards, Medal Test & One Dance Awards.

Tap dance

Tap dancing classes are a fantastic, energetic and fun way for children to develop their musical rhythm and timing, whilst learning to dance in sequence. Our lively tap dance classes are a great way to learn about rhythm and timing in a fun setting.

Ballet

A strong classical technique is essential for all dancers. Ballet develops core strength and flexibility whilst improving posture and encouraging musicality and artistry. Our ballet classes are taught by highly qualified tutors who will ensure that your child’s class is tailored appropriately for their age and ability.

Our pupils study the RAD – Royal Academy of Dance syllabus and the IDTA Rosettes and Stardance awards.

''Everybody Dance Now''

Every Wednesday 5-5:45pm during term time @ Venerable Bede church hall, 7 Giggetty Ln, Wombourne, Wolverhampton WV5 0AR.

This is our dance class for children aged 5 and over that have additional needs, who may not cope with the demands of a mainstream dance class. It is a relaxed dance class where we learn a range of dance styles, whilst working on skills for coordination, balance, memory and so much more. With over 15 years experience of working with children and adults with additional needs, Miss Vicky knows the importance of creating a warm and welcome environment for both the students and parents alike, to build a network of support and lasting friendships.

“Everybody Dance Now” only started in September 2019 and so far the students have already performed in their first show with the school and have their first exam session booked.

If you would like anymore information about this wonderful class please do contact us.

Street dance

Street dance is a style performed regularly in music videos or performed by backing dancers at music shows and is an exciting way to keep fit.
In street dance, each dance teacher leads with their own personality and style.

In these classes you will be learning dance routines to your favourite tunes and will be able to wow your friends at the next school disco.

Street Dance isn’t just a way to learn how to look good on the dancefloor it’s a fantastic way to build confidence and get fit. So, keep it up and before you know it you’ll be throwing shapes like Justin Timberlake and using muscles you never knew existed.

Pre-school dance classes

Our pre-school classes aim to capture and nurture young children’s instinctive joy of movement and freedom of expression. Through participation, children should learn movements that encourage exploration, independence and social interaction.

Our classes are designed to enable children to participate in dance activities that are developmentally appropriate, helping to facilitate the learning of dance skills at a later age.

Miss Eadie's classes are designed around make believe stories using themes such as princess, fairy, elf pixie, pirates, going on magic carpet rides, travelling to the seaside, and visiting space. These imaginative themed fun classes are always so much fun whilst teaching the children ballet and tap.

Through participation, children can be motivated to continue with dance throughout childhood and beyond, acquiring the skills and attitudes necessary for leading healthy and active lives.
