We are now an Acrobatic Arts Certified Studio

Tip Toes Dance Academy is now an Acrobatic Arts certified studio. Acrobatic Arts is the leading Acrobatic dance program within the UK, America and Australia. We are very excited to be one of the first certified studios in our area.
All our Acrobatic Dance classes will now follow the Acrobatic Arts syllabus. The Acrobatic Arts syllabus uses effective progressions in flexibility, strength, balancing, limbering and tumbling, which are the five main areas focused on within our Acrobatic Dance classes. Pupils are taught to warm up the muscles appropriately. They also take part in exercises to improve their overall flexibility and strength, which in turn assists pupils in their technical precision when executing movements such as cartwheels, handstands and bridges.
When students are ready they will have the opportunity to take exams if they wish to do so. Within classes we will also work on group routines for our annual showcases.
For children aged 3-5 we also follow the IDTA Tricks and Tumbles Syllabus, which is a fun program of gymnastic dance that is designed especially for younger students.

Miss Eadie is now a certified teacher of the AcroDance Pre School curriculum.
This fabulous programme is being rolled out this term and will teach physical and social-emotional literacy to our youngest dancers. The class will involve Songs, dance, story telling, playing games that keep little ones on task and having fun while mastering important milestones in Acro.

Creating elegant and acrobatic routines

With inspiration from gymnastic floor work and rhythmic gymnastics, acrobatic gymnastics incorporates flexible movement into elegant flowing routines, with creative, expressive lifts and poses. Requiring strength, flexibility and technique, this dance form produces inspiring performances for the dancer and audience.

We follow the IDTA syllabus and there are opportunities for students to take assessments and examinations if they wish too. We offer dance classes for children 8 years and under, and 9 years and over.

Acrobatic Arts & IDTA Gymnastic Dance Classess

Acrobatic gymnastics involves strength, flexibility and technical precision, which are the three main areas focused on within our gymnastic dance classes. Pupils are taught to warm up the muscles appropriately before entering into any gymnastic movements. They also take part in extensive and varying stretching exercises to improve their overall flexibility, which in turn assists pupils in their technical precision when executing movements such as cartwheels, bridges and flips.

Gymnastics helps pupils to improve their balance, coordination and confidence as well as refining basic motor skills, developing strength, flexibility and spatial awareness. Pupils are encouraged to progress at their own pace whilst participating in this fun and exciting class. The skills and body awareness learnt within this class will ensure a solid foundation for other dance genres. Aiming to develop strength, flexibility and fluidity of movement within a more structured discipline, gymnastic dance relies on teamwork to create stunning set pieces and individual skills to amaze its audience.

Carried out in a caring and safe environment, students are encouraged to develop at their own rate working on floor-based routines for a variety of examination, competitive and performance purposes.
